VIP – Visually Impaired Person/People
The term visually impaired is used nowadays to include both blind and partially sighted people. That is anyone who is registered or registerable as Sight Impaired or Seriously Sight Impaired. Generally speaking they would have a sight problem that is not correctable with spectacles.
Low Vision Aids
Primarily these are magnifiers but now include electronic magnifying equipment.
Benefits
When using this term it is usually referring to money available from the Department of Work and Pensions for people who have a disability.
