Insight – the support and information service provided by GCAB

The impact of sight loss can be devastating and affects many aspects of life. It is very important that people have access to support and information as soon as possible.

To provide this immediate support Celia is present in Gloucester hospital in Laser Room 2 within the eye clinic every Wednesday morning to meet and talk with patients and/or their relatives and carers.

She is able to:

• Provide support to patients at a difficult time – giving them the opportunity to talk at length and ask questions
• Be a point of contact, a named person
• Provide easier access to relevant support services
• Encourage people with sight loss to maintain their quality of life and independence.
