Everyone at GCAB is very grateful for all the donations we receive. We receive no Government funding so we rely on these donations to carry on our services for visually impaired people throughout Gloucestershire.
We can now turn a £10 donation into £12.50 and at no extra cost to the donor! This is because of a scheme called Gift Aid.
For a donation to qualify for Gift Aid, the donor must be a UK taxpayer. The donor must pay enough Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in the same year to at least equal the amount of tax the charity will claim from HMRC.
We know this can come across confusing and daunting as it involves tax. So here’s a very easy way to work out if you have paid enough tax to cover the Gift Aid.
Divide the donation value by four. For example, if you give £100 in a particular tax year you will need to have paid £25 tax during that period.
We can also back date any donations you have donated to GCAB in the past 4 years.
If you would like to gift aid your donations then please fill out the Gift Aid declaration form and send it back to us at:
